spacerNew Hope Daylilies are extremely proud to be a British daylily nursery, nestled in the South Shropshire Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty on the border between England and Wales in the United Kingdom.

spacerOwners and great friends, Liz Colebrook and Fiona Pidduck took over running this long established horticultural business from Mark Zenick in 2022 as he retired leaving a huge legacy and having shared a vast wealth of knowledge with his two right hand nursery women.

spacerMark always described himself as a 'daylily missionary', having originally started growing (and selling) Hemerocallis in his native Massachusetts more than 30 years ago. He then introduced them to rural Shropshire in the noughties after resettling in the UK. Since then, Liz and Fi have continued his tradition of holding open weekends through the summer high season. New customers and loyal returning customers come and visit from across the UK to add to their collections as well as chatting about their daylilies over tea, coffee and plenty of homemade cake! Liz and Fi have continued to grow the business by attending plant fairs, launching a new website and online shop and increasing their choice of cultivars from 250 to over 350.

spacer Considering the daylily is renowned for being the most popular hardy perennial in the States, it's hard to believe we Brits who love gardening are relatively late to the party!

spacerBut things are definitely changing as New Hope Daylilies was featured on the most popular gardening programme on UK TV 'Gardeners' World' back in August 2024. There was a wonderful response, which kept Liz and Fi busy for months! A great deal more of the British public are now in no doubt about how hardy these perennials are, how they thrive on benign neglect, tolerating weeks without rainfall to bouncing back after a rainstorm with new blooms where other plants can really suffer!

spacerPlease follow New Hope Daylilies on Facebook and Instagram and if you have friends and family in the UK, please do let them know a warm welcome awaits at New Hope! Anyone may subscribe to our mailing list via our website and our open weekend dates for Summer 2025 are now on our website under 'Visit & Events'.
