The bed in the foreground is in a transitional area between full sun and the deep shade garden, seen in the background. This area is transitioning in another way: We lost an enormous white pine (seen in upper left of the opening photo) to blister rust in 2022. It was heart-rending, and many plants had to be moved as a result. There is always a bright side, though. More room to grow more daylilies, and it opened a space for a large collection of true lilies given to me by a friend at the end of the 2023 growing season.
